Down in the hole we go...

    The year was 2010. A group of six friends that were into spelunking decided to travel to Cambodia to explore the famous Phnom Sampeau cave. This cave was known as "the killing cave", due to the tortures practiced there in the 1970's, and the group could not wait to dive into its secrets.

    They chose the busiest day to visit, since they had to get rid of the tour guide. Kristie already knew the place to escape the boring tour. A little slit on the wall, right before arriving to the center of the cave.

    Kristie's mother, Blanca, was a geologist, so it was pretty easy to get the map of the insides of the cave, even the of-limits part.

    Once they got to the chance, they rushed into the cleft and got it.

    Kiera stayed behind, so she could hand them the bags. After all the bags were on the other side, she followed her friends into the dark.

    While they were walking, Raelene shared the story of the cave with Joni and Celia, since they arrived a little late to the place and missed it the first time.

- Beheaded? Really? - asked Celia, in chock. 

- Yup. And their heads were placed in bird cages, that are still hanging on the ceiling!

- Such morbidity... - said Joni.

    Suddenly, the group stopped. There was a hole in the ground that was not on the map. The excitement increased, as they opened the bags to take out the ropes. Ashley was the first getting ready, so she started going down the hole.

    As she was descending, the light on the helmet turned off.

- Girls! My light doesn't work! I can't see anything.

- Are you still going? - asked Kristie.

- Yes. It seems to be really deep.

    Seconds after, Ashley added:

- Wait... There is something here...

    Then, silence. 

    The other girls kept talking to her, but she never answered. Kristie decided to go in.

- Wait! Are you really going in? Shouldn't we wait for her to say something? - asked Kiera.

- What if the cave is haunted? Fortunately I brought my lucky charm... - said Celia, in terror.

- Stop with that thingamabob of yours Celia! It's just a deep hole, maybe we can't hear her because of that, ok? - shouted Joni.

    Kristie started to go down the hole and minutes latter she got to the bottom, letting the others know it was safe to follow. As the other girls got ready, Kristie looked around, looking for Ashley, but there was no sign of her. Kristie called her name, but no answer was heard.

    All of a sudden, a noise. Kristie felt a node in her throat. She had a glimpse of a shadow, so she started slowly walking back to her rope. As she turned around, she took a bump in the head and blacked out.

    When Kiera got to the bottom of the hole, she saw a pool of blood, right next to Kristie's rope. She wanted to scream, but she couldn't. She was paralyzed. When Raelene got to her and saw the blood, she asked where were Kristie and Ashley, but Kiera was still not able to talk. Then came Celia, who screamed with that sight and started shouting out to Joni: "Stay there! Don't come down!". But Joni was already close, so she kept going.

- Mother of.... What happened?! - asked Joni.

- We don't know. Kiera is not talking and there is no sign of Kristie and Ashley... - said Raelene.

- So much blood... We should get out of here! - shouted Celia.

- But Kristie and Ashley...

- God damn it Raelene! Can't you see what's happening? We are not alone! There is someone or something here, and it took them and if we don't hurry it will take as too!

    Celia was terrified, and she was right to be...

    Joni agreed with Celia, saying that it was weird that the hole was not on the map.

    Seconds later, Celia felt something grabbing her leg, but as soon as she saw what it was, she was pulled away from the others. Joni chased her, but it was so fast she couldn't catch her.

- Joni! Where are you?! - asked Raelene, slowly following Joni's steps, with an almost motionless Kiera.

    After a few minutes of silence, Raelene heard steps. She started shaking, but then Joni showed up.

- I found Celia... She was alive but...had a deep cut on the jugular. It was...fatal... I couldn't save her.

- There is... - said Kiera, at last - Someone...no...something here.

    Joni and Raelene looked at each other and rushed to the ropes, only to find that they were missing.

    In panic, they started screaming for help, but there was no answer and no escape.

    Years after the incident, their bones are still there, secretly piled up with the older ones for all tourists to see.

    Now, I'm expecting some fresh ones...
